Aproject about dreams. How did I even come up with the idea of doing something like this? I think I wanted to photograph something that we can't touch, yet seems tangible and explainable. Something that only plays out in our heads, yet haunts us so vividly and truly every night. Shakes us through every night, perhaps connecting us with the afterlife, with our ancestors. Lets us travel every night and then, in amazement, lets us go again in the morning. That sits on our chest like a heavy being, tearing us from our sleep, drenched in sweat. Frightens and unsettles us. That has influenced humanity since time immemorial. Makes us take new paths and rethink old ones. That chatteringly wants to tell us everything it knows, but that you only understand by really listening. In addition to my dream life, I also embarked on a search in my waking life. My first destination was the sea.
Der tauchende Kater was created in 2021 as part of my bachelor's thesis. I have already managed to sell 30 handmade copies, though I haven't yet been able to have it mass-produced. Until then, I have to keep busy with binding it myself.
